This set of images is very interesting in the 'looking' that informs them and the exploration that's going on. Somehow one feels a little something going on to do with , dare the word be said, 'materiality' – not to mention cultural narratives exposing themselves.
"Not all wicker work is neat and tidy. We might be accustomed to seeing straight-edged, perfectly rounded baskets but there are other methods of finishing wicker items off that don't require such perfectionism. Here are a couple of examples of interesting edging from items already submitted to our current exhibition Wicker Wonderlust.
